Museum was opened on 7th of November 1977. During first months there was about 100 exhibits. Now museum has almost 1400 exhibits in its disposal: documents, photographs, household items of first settlers, private items of war veterans, works of famous fellow countrymen. More thank 50 items were given by Kuban cossacks who have taken park in liberation of these lands from fascists.
Ethnographic section is presented by household items of settlers of first settlements on the territory of the district. Also, in this section it is told about social-political life of the district during 1918-1941 years.
Second section of the museum is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War. Photographs, memories of settlers of the district about war, private items of fellow countrymen, war veterans and participants of the region's liberation are being exhibited in the museum.
Third section is presented by stands which tell about modern life of the district, people who played huge role in developing the region.
Materials about the 1979-1989 Afghan War veterans are exhibited separately.

Since the foundation of the district in 1932 Razdelnaya village was its center. Then, in 1957 this settlement achieved a status of city. There are 86 settlements in the district, which population reaches approximately 56 000. The population of Razdelnaya is 17 300 people.
This region is famous for its water resources. From one side it is washed by Dniester river, from the other – by Khadzibey estuary. This water richness creates lots of tourism opportunities not only for citizens of the district but for tourists from other countries as well.
